Hitachi Upgrades Hard Drive Plant for iPods

Reuters is reporting that Hitachi is dropping $200 million to double the output of its Thailand hard drive manufacturing plant specifically to answer demand for drives for Apple’s iPod. If all goes to plan, by the end of the year the iPod wait (which has been a brilliant, if accidental, marketing lust enhancer) will be cut down from six-weeks to, well, shorter.
