The HP iPAQ hx4700, the second VGA PDA to hit the US market, is now available at your favorite online retailer or PDA Shoppe. PDA Buyer’s Guide had the good fortune to procure a review unit, and it looks to be a pretty sweet little number. The feature list is impressive, even if the features themselves are becoming standard: built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, 624Mhz Intel Bulverde CPU, 64MB RAM with 128MB flash for storage, and of course slots for SD and CF. The combo of 624MHz processor and VGA makes this iPAQ the fastest VGA PDA in existence (the Asus competing model runs at 520Mhz) while the only other PDA with a 624Mhz proc is limited to QVGA (the Dell Axim), so you get the best of both worlds here.
Video playback is solid, of course, and the fast speed tears up any Pocket PC game you can throw at it. For $650 it better be.
