Evleaks is reporting that HTC is planning to release a trimmed-down version of its current flagship phone, the One, which will pack a 4.3-inch screen.

The rumors suggest that HTC has been working on a miniaturized version—codenamed M4—which it plans to announce before the end of June. According to Evleaks, the phone will feature a 4.3-inch 720p display, a dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, LTE, and an “UltraPixel” camera similar to the One’s, all running on Android 4.2. Sounds like… well, a scaled-back version of the One.

If the rumors are true, it would make sense for HTC to lean on the One’s branding, because its flagship has garned serioulsy positive praise since its launch earlier this year. What remains to be seen, though—aside from whether the rumor proves to be true—is just how good a younger sibling would be. Miniature versions of flagship phones have a history of being insipid—so it would be nice if HTC could eschew that trend. [Phone Arena via Verge]
