Amazon’s Fire TV Soundbar Plus with Subwoofer turns flat-screen TV speakers into a true home theater setup with real low end. The 37-inch-wide soundbar has eight drivers in a 3.1-channel configuration, including a dedicated center channel for dialogue, and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for three-dimensional sound, plus a wireless subwoofer for deep bass you can actually “feel.” The wireless subwoofer automatically connects to the soundbar after you plug it in.

Amazon has the Amazon Fire TV Soundbar Plus with Subwoofer on sale for $235, down from its usual price of $375. You save $140, or 37% off.

With the addition of the wireless subwoofer, the Soundbar Plus with Subwoofer offers an entire home audio upgrade for viewing movies, TV shows, sports, and music. Included with the purchase are the soundbar, wireless subwoofer, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding support, DTS TruVolume, a remote with separate bass and treble controls, and connectivity to your TV via a single HDMI cable.

Inside the grille are three full-range speakers and three tweeters for the left, center, and right channels, plus two internal subwoofers to round out the low end. The center channel offers a major advantage for dialogue, as voices tend to come from the center of the screen rather than getting lost in background music and sound effects.

The wireless subwoofer measures about 10.4 x 10.4 x 13.4 inches, weighs 14.3 pounds, and adds realistic weight to explosions, engine rumbles, and bass lines. Since the subwoofer connects to the soundbar wirelessly, you can place it near a sofa or in a corner without running cables across rooms.

Both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are object-based formats commonly found on most new 4K Blu-ray discs and several popular streaming services like Netflix and Disney+. Because the soundbar natively supports both formats, you receive the spatial audio mix created during movie and TV show production.

The remote allows you to make fine adjustments to the sound. Dedicated bass and treble buttons provide nine options for each adjustment, and preset modes for Movie, Music, Sport, and Night let you switch quickly based on what you’re watching. Night mode prevents loud events from disturbing other household members, and DTS TruVolume smooths rapid volume changes between programs and commercials.

To get started with your soundbar, you need to connect it to your TV by using its HDMI eARC or ARC port. Next, you need to plug in the subwoofer and let them talk to each other. If you have an Amazon Fire TV device, you may be able to control the soundbar volume from the remote. For even more capability, Amazon sells a pair of wireless surround speakers that connect directly to the soundbar, creating a full 5.1 surround system.

The Amazon Fire TV Soundbar Plus with Subwoofer produces better-than-TV-speaker quality with clear dialogue, deeper bass, and support for Dolby Atmos with virtually no additional effort. It’s a big step up from standard TV speakers while still letting you expand into a fully immersive surround system.
