A couple of you have complained about all the iPod coverage this week. While I feel your pain, it was a launch week for two new models, so you’ll sort of have to get over it. Still, I’ve got a bit of iPod news here, and as a concession to your pain—and to assuage my growing frustration with Apple for not even responding to normal begging-for-product emails—I will toss it all into this iPod MegaPost, which even has its own special logo, thanks to our pal Goopy, bright of pen and shirt.

Mossberg and Boehret pick up the Dell Pocket DJ, Rio Carbon, and Creative Zen Micro in a comparison review to the iPod Mini. It ain’t pretty:

iPodLounge already has their iPod Photo, since Apple loves them and hates us (but I’m not bitter). They took lots of photos and such and put them in a gallery if you’d like to see the new packaging and such. Thank the fetus that Apple ditched the chintzy primary color boxes and went back to white. Dan Frakes over at MacWorld already has the first hack for the iPod Photo: turning it into the iPod Video! Sort of. Actually, it’s more like an iPod Flipbook, but it’s still a fun hack. If I end up dropping the change for an iPod Photo (not likely at the moment), it would definitely be a fun trick to impress the easily-impressed.
