Tony Goodman, President of Ensemble Studios (Age of Mythology, etc.) pointed out that we hadn’t talked about the Sony Vaio S series notebooks, and I think he’s right – we sometimes go to the high-end big gaming rigs or the ultra-light portables, but sort of glom over the middle products. I’m glad he pointed it out to us, though, because while it’s not the small as the smallest notebooks around, it might be the smallest real gaming-worthy machine, with a 2GHz Pentium M, a Radeon Mobility 9700, and a 16-inch 13.3-inch screen (which by all accounts is very, very nice looking).
So is it the very smallest? I can’t think of anything that weighs less than the Vaio S’s 4.2 lbs, but I thought I’d let you prove us wrong if you know of something more powerful in a tinier package.
