James Clar, a New York-based artist whose works primarily involve brilliant (conceptually and literally) arrays of LEDs, has re-launched his web site in both an HTML and Flash version (and the Flash version, for what it’s worth, isn’t a total eye/browser rape, so don’t be afraid to check it out). It must be getting a bit of play elsewhere, as a couple of you have sent in some links pointing out your favorite pieces. And you’re right, Benjamin, the 3D Display Cube is pretty awesome—I especially like how it looks like the 1000 LEDs are hand-twisted together, but the display itself is so precise.
Anyway, shiny bits ahoy, and I think almost all of you will get a kick out of checking out Clar’s work. It makes me wish I had the least amount of electrical rigging skill.
