Alright, I guess this does it: rainbow LEDs are the new blue LEDs. JVC has a new DVD/MD/CD mini-system called the UX-QD7 that not only has 63 color combinations in its LCD display, but also shoots a matching color through the clear plastic disc tray underneath. It’s also nicknamed the “Lip Lap,” although I don’t have the foggiest idea why. While it’s not super-likely that the Lip Lap will see the light of day here in the States (especially not with the Minidisc), this isn’t the last time (nor the first) we see flashy candy-colored rainbow patterns in our electronics, mark my words.
