Several hackers massively irked Jack Dorsey last year when they wormed their way into Twitter and hijacked high profile accounts to steal Bitcoin. Users first noticed something odd was going on when Elon Musk started babbling about “feeling generous”—a definite red flag. “I’m feeling generous because of COVID-19,” his account chirped. “I’ll double any BTC payment sent to my BTC address for the next hour. Good luck, and stay safe out there!” Other compromised accounts included the likes of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Jeff Bezos, and others. The suspected hackers reportedly made $121,000 in Bitcoin before ultimately being arrested.
