The LG 65-inch C5 OLED evo TV is the current version of LG’s C-series, the TV to buy if you care about picture quality but don’t want to spend flagship money. The C5 takes the usual OLED strengths a step further: deeper blacks than any LCD can produce, colors that stay accurate from any seat, and a response time fast enough that sports and games never smear. Brightness is where older OLEDs fell behind LED, and the C5 closes the gap.
Head over to Best Buy to get the LG 65-inch C5 OLED evo TV for just $1,300, down from its usual price of $2,700. That’s a $1,400 discount and 52% off.
A gorgeous 65-inch TV with deep hues and crisp details
The OLED panel is the reason this TV looks so great. Each of the 8.3 million pixels produces its own light, so a black pixel is completely off rather than a backlight dimmed behind a filter. The result is true black instead of the dark grey LED-backlit LCDs approach, but never reach. Contrast ratio is effectively infinite, and the C5 carries UL verification for Perfect Black and Perfect Color up to 500 lux.
The OLED evo technology resolves an issue that has been present since OLED’s inception: limited peak brightness in lighted areas, which caused previous OLED models to appear washed out in daylight. The C5 enhances highlights in scenes better than previous C-series models thanks to the addition of both the Brightness Booster Max and the Alpha 9 Gen8 AI processor.
The C5 is excellent for gaming as well. The four HDMI 2.1 video outputs support 4 K at 144Hz with a 0.1-millisecond response time. In addition, the C5 supports NVIDIA G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, and HDMI Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), which allow gamers to experience smooth, stutter-free gameplay. The auto low-latency mode will engage when the C5 detects content from game consoles. Additionally, the game optimizer interface will provide users with options to customize their viewing experience, such as zooming in with a crosshair over the action, increasing brightness for dark scenes, or displaying FPS.
Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, HDR10, and Filmmaker Mode are also included. Dolby Vision IQ can automatically adjust its dynamic tone mapping to match the scene’s ambient lighting. So, films will be accurately calibrated without requiring changes to settings.
WebOS 25 runs the software with fast app launches, a pointer-based Magic Remote that replaces D-pad navigation with cursor control, and built-in Alexa. AirPlay 2 and Chromecast support casting from iPhone and Android, and Netflix, Disney+, Max, Apple TV+, YouTube, and Prime Video are all pre-installed. An almost-invisible bezel and a gallery-style Always Ready mode that displays art, photos, and ambient content when the TV isn’t in use make the C5 work as living-room furniture rather than a black rectangle.
The LG 65-inch C5 OLED evo TV is on sale for $1,300 instead of the usual $2,700. A 65-inch OLED with full HDMI 2.1 gaming, Dolby Vision IQ, and LG’s latest processor at $1,300 is a price that typically only appears on last year’s model on Black Friday.
