The LG 77-inch Class B5 Series OLED AI 4K TV is LG’s entry point into its 2025 OLED lineup, and it’s a 77-inch panel with over 8.3 million self-lit pixels behind the glass. Each pixel turns on and off, so black areas of the picture are truly black rather than a dim gray. The Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen2 handles the picture and sound, adjusting both based on what it detects you’re watching. It has a native 120Hz refresh rate and four HDMI 2.1 inputs on the back. LG runs webOS 25 on it.

Head over to Best Buy to get the LG 77-inch Class B5 Series OLED AI 4K TV for just $1,400, down from its usual price of $3,000. That’s a $1,600 discount and 53% off.

OLED differs from both LED and QLED panels in that those have a backlight. A backlight can produce some degree of “black” by blocking the light with an opaque material. That is why you’ll see many retail displays show black areas more like charcoal. The OLED panel doesn’t use a backlight, because the individual pixels emit their own light and turn off when they need to be black. This is how the OLED TV achieves contrast, and it’s also why a dark movie scene looks like it’s being viewed in a dark room rather than a very gray image.

The Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen2 processes the image. The processor determines whether your current video content is a particular genre, then adjusts the display parameters accordingly. AI Super Upscaling also improves clarity in lower-resolution video, such as older programs and standard-definition television broadcasts, so that content doesn’t look soft on a larger screen.

Gaming is where the B5 earns a lot of its reputation. All four HDMI ports support 4K at 120Hz, VRR, and ALLM, and the TV carries both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium certification. Plugging a PS5, an Xbox, and a gaming PC into three ports and still having one left over is genuinely useful.

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are both supported, and FILMMAKER MODE turns off the motion smoothing and other processing so a movie plays the way the director graded it. AI Clear Sound uses deep learning to make the audio feel like it’s coming from around you, not from behind the panel.

webOS 25 is the smart platform, with more than 300 free LG Channels built in and the webOS Re:New program promising up to five years of software upgrades. The LG 77-inch Class B5 Series OLED AI 4K TV is $1,400 right now instead of $3,000, and the B5 is the dimmest of LG’s 2025 OLEDs, so consider your room’s direct sunlight before you order.
