The new LG-KP3800 clamshell handset from LG is pretty typically fancy, with a 1.3-megapixel camera and dual speakers, but the most interesting bit is definitely its ability to do Object Character Recognition (OCR). By just snapping a picture of a business card the phone will parse out pertinent data like names and phone numbers to add to your address book. Handy if it works to a high degree of accuracy, although not as much use here in the States where not everyone has their own business cards. Not a problem, though, as I’m sure we’ll never see this particular model.
