The LightSpin bicycle light lets you add a human-powered headlight to your ride without worrying about it going dark every time you stop pedaling. It uses an electrical storage “battery” to store up the extra energy from your pedals, powering the light for up to 45 minutes at a time when fully topped off. It looks like a nice bit of equipment, especially if you rides take you to those places not cast over by the light of street lamps. Treehugger brought it to my attention, but unfortunately the retail website linked appears to be borked. A quick Googling shows a few sites selling it, but bear in mind it’s a European import, so prices and availability will vary. Most are selling the dynamo for around $100.
