I think this is probably about the last DVD Dual Layer (DVD+R9) writer that I’ll be linking to, as the technology looks like it’s going to be a big success, with even new burners like this $160 Lite-On SOHW-832S hitting the market for prices comparable to non-dual layer drives. The DVD burned played back on five out of six devices, including four standalone DVD players, and as I’ve always had good luck with Lite-On drives in the past, the solid performance of the drive isn’t surprising. Now that the writers are here, we all get to wait for the media to reach an acceptable price.
