Logitech’s G923 is a top-of-the-line racing wheel and pedal set for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. The G923 ranks at the top of the G-series, above the G29, with TRUEFORCE, which provides a direct connection from the wheel’s force feedback to the game physics rather than an older method of providing general force feedback. Hand-stitched leather wraps the wheel, aluminum paddle shifters are used to change gears, and a progressive brake pedal is included instead of the linear brake springs found in the previous models for providing greater sensitivity when pressing down on the brake. TRUEFORCE is a new type of force feedback system used by Logitech in their G923 gaming steering wheel. It uses a method that is different from how older-style force feedback steering wheels were designed. Instead of simply reading out-of-the-box events created within a game, such as when your car collides with another object or spins, the TRUEFORCE technology can read the physics engine that a game uses. TRUEFORCE can do this up to 4000 times per second, allowing the force feedback of your wheel to represent the actual grip, road surface, and mechanical behavior of your car as you are driving in real time. However, for TRUEFORCE to be fully effective, games must support this technology.
Physically, the wheel measures 900 degrees lock-to-lock, giving you two and a half full rotations from full left to full right for accurate simulation of a real race car’s steering ratio. Hand-stitched leather wraps the rim, and anodized aluminum forms the shifter paddles behind the wheel. Steel construction extends through the shaft, and a hall-effect steering sensor tracks position without physical potentiometer wear. LED RPM indicators across the top of the wheel light up in sequence as engine RPM approaches redline, cueing you to upshift.
The pedal set on the floor is the second half of the setup, with a nonlinear brake pedal that responds to how hard you press rather than how far you push. A programmable dual-clutch launch system also uses both the clutch pedal and a shifter paddle for automated race starts, matching the launch assist real GT cars have in supported racing games.
Glass-filled nylon clamps at the base screw down to a desk or racing rig up to two inches thick, and bolt holes on the underside accept M6 screws for permanent installation. The pedal base has a patented carpet grip system on the bottom, so pushing hard on the brake doesn’t shift the whole pedal set across the floor.
Logitech G HUB software on Windows and macOS manages calibration, force feedback tuning, and button remapping, and configurations save to onboard memory, so the wheel keeps your settings across PCs or consoles. The G923 also connects to the optional Driving Force Shifter for six-speed manual gear changes on top of the paddle shifters.
