Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse

Good morning, internets friends. I have a hell of a headache—not from whisky, as you might suppose, but from an unknown culprit. I suspect yesterday’s marathon Katamari Damacy session might have a little bit to do with it. It’s a hard row we bloggers hoe, but I’m sure I’ll make it somehow.

On a more geegawy note, Logitech has announced the slick new V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse, a small optical mouse with a lot of cool tricks, like a 4-way solid-state scroll panel to replace the standard wheel, for one. It also has an ‘Expandable Chassis’ that lets the V500 articulate in the hard for more comfort, as well as a 2.4GHz Micro Receiver USB key that slips inside the mouse body itself for easy storage (a maneuver known in the industry as the ‘Reverse Gere’). They also claim a new ‘All-Terrain Optical Engine’ will provide a more robust tracking experience, but who really knows. If they did optimize it to track on less smooth surfaces, like hotel bedspreads, for instance, that would be pretty smart.

Why didn’t they make it Bluetooth, though? (Thanks, Andrew!)
