Logitech has a new set of 5.1 PC speakers that push out 505-watts of THX-certified vibration. The Z-5500 is your standard PC speaker concept – powered subwoofer connecting to a bunch of satellite speakers, a setup that lets you forgo a receiver (for better and for worse) to plug them up directly to your PC or DVD player. The Z-5500 also feature on-board 96/24 digital decoding ability, if you’re into high-fidelity audio output but not into it enough to buy a full-blown audio system.
Should show up next month for about $400. They also are launching a new 2.1 system called the Z-2300 for about $150.
