The German auto manufacturer, Loremo AG, will be debuting this car at the Motor Show 2006 in Geneva next week. This is an ultra-efficient car that is powered by a 2-cylinder turbo diesel engine that operates at 20 hp and a top speed of 99 mph. Loremo is planning on selling this car for less than $13,000. The car has such low gas consumption because it weighs less than 1,000 pounds. It may also look small, but supposedly it has enough space for four.
To have a choice in LA to buy a car for getting to/from work that gets this kind of milage? That would be truly wonderful for many Angelenos I know. Their normal gas bill for commuting is over 500/mo now and climbing. With this car it could be as little as 10/per week or less! Amazing! I don't drive enough to benefit from another car even with this milage but for those who do - this could be a gift from God. When we realize that we do not NEED 400 horsepower under the hood and zero to sixty miles per hour in 4 seconds, the world may be vastly improved place! This does what it needs to do. It moves you around efficiently. I assume it's safe, and it sounds like a real treat to me to only fill that tank once a month or less!
