While I’m not quite ready to drop $60 on it, the Marathon Computer RePorter looks like an absolute godsend for someone like me who has to spend a lot of time on his hands and knees for a living. It’s a pretty simple idea: condense all those rear-mounted ports into a single-cable terminating in a big port clutser that you can put on your desk (or wherever is more convenient). Instead of kneeling and grunting every time you need to swap out a a device, you easily plug it in to the handy pod in the front. If you have a bunch of devices that all use the same standard, it might be easier just to buy a hub, but if you use a little bit of everything like I do, the FireWire 400/800, USB 2.0 and in/out sound ports should handle most situations.
