Thermostats, on the whole, work pretty well. However, this rug makes up for those times when the thermostat is on a smoke break or the kids have messed with it. It is a rug that detects when a person is on the nearby and modifies the rug temperature and the room temperature accordingly. This feat of heat is done with little IR sensor magic and heating components in the rug. Also, just think of all the potential laughs when Fido decides to go piddle on it.
