Have you ever played a videogame … with your mind? Have you ever played a videogame with your mind … that sucked? I like what the Swedish Interactive Institute is doing (the ‘Swedish’ isn’t officially part of their name, but it makes them seem much more credible to me), as far as the ‘building a video game that you play with your mind’ part goes. But why couldn’t it involve lasers or raccoons or glass eating or something? Instead the game is Mindball, where opponents face off against each other over a $19,000 table to see who can remain the calmest. Perhaps there is an upshot, though — after three hours of zen-like Mindball playing, youthful brains will be clean slates to be imprinted with a healthy round of serial-killer inducing violence from real, fun videogames.
