Any MMS message sent by a Sprint user can be received to a Google Voice inbox, or email inbox. No doubt this is a limited development, but Google's promise to expand this feature to other carriers and services make it something to keep an eye on. [Google via PhoneScoop]

You've got part of this story right and part of it wrong. It isn't a fix "for Sprint Android users" — it is a fix for all users, but it only works if the MMS is sent by a Sprint customer. It doesn't matter what carrier the receiver is on, you just have to have text forwarding to your email enabled.
