Mobinote has dropped a proper press release about their upcoming DVX-POD, the 7-inch portable video player that takes its visual cues — despite a whole paragraph dedicated to beating around the bush — from the iPod. The release talks a little bit more about the DVX-POD 7010’s PVR abilities, and how users should be able to record directly to the device as it encodes on the fly. The question will be, of course, at what rate and quality. Still, the DVX-POD is one of only a few in the upcoming wave of video players to have really made any sort of splash, and it’s at least a little funny that part of that is just because it is shiny and white.
