Reader Paul Paik sent me a bunch of great links about Samsung’s 5-megapixel SCH-S250 phone, and since he already did all the heavy lifting I figured the least I could do is pass them on. There isn’t a ton of new information, but some new pictures and self-congratulatory quotes from the Samsung execs might ease the pain of knowing we’ll never see this phone in the US.
Although the SCH-S250 doesn’t have an optical zoom, Samsung does state that future models in the line will add the functionality. And SK Telecom is making noise about a 10-megapixel cameraphone from Samsung to be introduced “by the end of this year,” but I have a hard time believing something wasn’t lost in translation. I’m pretty sure it’s still late October in Korea, too.
