Mobiletracker lived up to their name yesterday, straightening out Monday’s surprisingly quiet announcement of the iTunes phone. It seems that the Motorola E1060 isn’t the iTunes phone, but was just used as a display model to show off the software in progress. Motorola has really screwed up the handling of the iTunes Java software, continually showing it off, then remaining standoffish when approached for details. I’m sure they just want to have a big launch for the product (which may be white and iPoddy after all, who knows) but they should really take a clue from Apple and keep their mouths shut about it until they are ready to give us the details. I mean, I’m an idiot, but if you’re fooling Reuters into prematurely announcing your product, maybe something is off.
