If you like the white plastic looks of the iBook but can’t stand OSX, MSI’s Mega Book S260 offers a nice visual nod to Apple’s low-end laptops, while providing an Intel Sonoma foundation on which to build a Windows- or Linux- or whatever-based system. All in all it looks great, with a nice, white 1,280 by 800 pixel widescreen, a fairly scratch-resistant coating, and decent performance. The only ding Trusted Reviews could give it was the smooshy keyboard and that might be fixed before the S260 goes into production.
It’s more expensive than an iBook, at around $1,650, but if you’re in the market for a smaller laptop that looks nice and performs well, it’s probably worth keeping an eye out for (and it will even come in colors other than white).
