The iPod mini colors strike again, this time bringing down Creative’s MuVo2, now available in five, easy-to-digest pastels. Well, and black. And it’s possible white isn’t technically a pastel, but still, these are clearly iPod inspired. The new MuVo2 version also will have a 5GB hard drive, instead of the previous 4GB version, and will now include a built-in FM receiver.
So far they’re Japan only, going for around $250. The last MuVo2, if you’ll remember, was almost universally adopted so that it could be broken open and its 4GB Microdrive scavenged for use in digital cameras. I would bet there is something – the lack of a proper Compact Flash interface, for instance – in these new models that will prevent that, but until an intrepid photographer hammers a new one open, we’ll just have to wait and see. (Thanks, Jon!)
