After the Fall by David Slater
It’s the classic circle of life scenario, captured in surreal colors. A dead California sea lion fell to the sea floor, and scavenging starfish made a meal of the carcass. David Slater was lucky enough to be there in Monterey Bay to photograph it.
“I had never known death to be this beautiful,” Slater told bioGraphic, “and I was humbled to be a part of this sea lion’s fall.”
