Oh, I saw this new Versapro PC98-NX Tablet PC from NEC last night and I meant to put it up here, and completely spaced it. It’s pretty slick, as far as these things go, with a Pentium M 1.1GHz, 10.4-inch screen, 20GB hard drive, and fairly decent battery life, depending on the battery. But the biggest thing is that it only weighs two pounds. That’s approaching the sort of weight of, you know, a real tablet. That’s always been the Tablet PC’s biggest failing (well, maybe short of price). Who wants to carry around an eight pound slab in one arm all day?
No word if NEC will be bringing the PC98-NX to the US, but I encourage them to do so post haste.
