Network Outage Bones T-Mobile Sidekick Users’ Data

By

Reading time 1 minute

MobileTracker is reporting that users of the T-Mobile Sidekick II platform have experience service outages since Monday that have affected some, but not all users. A Danger employee posted a note explaining it was a problem in Danger’s backend system, not T-Mobile’s network. Since the Sidekick II stores all its information on Danger’s servers (or at least Danger-branded servers on T-Mobile’s network; I’m not quite sure which), service outages on the backend network can cause users to lose data functionality, like downloading new applications. Service should be back up for about “90% of customers.”

More Sidekick trouble, this time an outage [MobileTracker]

Danger outage turns Sidekicks into just phones [CNETNews] Still no word from T-Mo/Danger about system security, either.
