Oregon Scientific MP100 Reviewed

Pocket-Lint reviews the Oregon Scientific MP100 MP3 player, which is “smaller than the average box of matches.” It’s capacity is small, too, at just 128MB, but you knew there wasn’t going to be a hard drive in there, so don’t get all huffy. The MP100 does have upgradeable firmware, which is always nice if a company decides to grace its customers with an after-point-of-sale glance in their direction, but I don’t think there is much hope of the memory capacity being upgraded, so you might want to wait until the 256MB version is released before Christmas.

All that nastiness aside, Charlie at Pocket-Lint does like it quite a bit. If you’re going to go flash, go small, I guess. Maybe that way no one will be able to read that you’re listening to Richard Marx.
