Damn, how’s that for a prediction? I just said a couple of hours ago that information about PalmOne’s new Treo 650 would leak out this week, but I didn’t think it would be from PalmOne themselves. This article at InternetNews sure sounds a lot like a product launch, although it doesn’t exactly have all the details about which carriers will have it first. There are some confirmations of things we already knew, though, like Bluetooth support, MP3 player, a 320 by 320 pixel display, and a “better” camera. All the cable connections use the new Tungsten T5 standard, although we knew that, too.
Probably the best new information is right at the bottom, where PalmOne confirms that there will be both a CDMA/1XRTT version and a quad-band GSM version with EDGE support, and that the 650 will be available “before the holiday shopping season.”
