Brighthand postulates that PalmOne may be planning to bundle its Wi-Fi SD Memory Card along with the Tungsten T5 and Zire 72 handhelds. PalmOne has taken many dings from the tech community (including us) for their lack of integrated Wi-Fi in their products. While the Wi-Fi SD card certainly is useful, it also takes up the memory card expansion slot, making it an either/or situation for something many people feel should be included.
It’s curious that the rumor doesn’t indicate the Treo 650 as getting the Wi-Fi card bundle, as well. It’s probably two-fold: Treos already have a way to broadcast data (their cellular radios), plus the Wi-Fi card has yet to be officially supported by PalmOne on the Treo (despite a common knowledge that the card does, in fact, work).
