Some rabid PalmOne fans noticed this page over the weekend on the Software Connection site, a ‘Top Ten Software Downloads’ collection for the yet-to-be-announced Treo 650. Shown in a tiny image are three versions of the 650, in what appears to be a carrier-branded blue model on the left (some have speculated AT&T, T-Mobile, or Cingular—everyone, basically), the Sprint-branded CDMA model in the center, and the generic PalmOne-branded model on the right. Whatever, really. We’ll find out which carriers are which in the announcement (rumored to be next Monday).
What I find telling, though, is that even though the page appears to have been discovered Saturday, PalmOne still hasn’t removed it from their site. It could just be that no one was in until today who could deal with it, but I think it’s probably that PalmOne has decided the launch is so close that it’s not worth the trouble. That frames the rumored announcement date as much more likely—I will go so far as to say that we should expect major details about the 650 to leak out this week.
