CES is still months away, but Panasonic is throwing down hard at today’s pre-CES event in NY taking the wraps off its first 1080p (1920×1080) projector. Just a week ago we gave you our impressions on the PT-AX100U, and now the PT-AE1000U makes the jump from 720p to 1080p and lets you plug in two HD sources thanks to its dual HDMI ports. Its 11,000:1 contrast ratio dwarfs the PT-AX100U’s 6,000:1 ratio, but the PT-AE1000U can only produce 1,100 lumens of brightness (the PT-AX100U goes for a slightly higher 2,000). Pricing hasn’t been set yet, but you can expect it to be north of the PT-AX100U’s $3,000 tag.
