Peregrine falcons dive faster than skydivers and here's the proof

BBC's Steve Leonard wanted to discover who dives the fastest in free fall: A peregrine falcon—known to be fastest animal on Earth—or two skydivers in tandem. To test that they jumped off a hot air balloon from 10,000 feet. Here's what happened:

Okay, so why didn't they do this with a single skydiver in a streamlined dive rather than the spread-eagle, slow-me down stance? The bird minimizes its air resistance. Skydivers can do that too... these guys just didn't. I mean, I know it wasn't a race, just a demonstration, but still.
