There’s nothing I love to write about more than people sticking things in my eye. Although I can just barely read their website through the tears, Verisyse new Phakic Intraocular Lens (IOL) appears to be a new technique for surgically adding permanent corrective lens into the layer between one’s iris and cornea. If it sounds drastic that’s because it sort of is—the IOL is designed to treat sever myopia and other major vision problems. The process has been field tested amply, though, with over 150,000 procedures already performed.
Earlier models from Verisyse, including the surgically implanted clown nose ‘Phonkic LOL,’ have not met the same measure of success.
