“Sick of the same old webcam design?” the good folks at DesignTechnica ask. Um, yeah — those dull white spheres of old clash with my curtains. Logitech has the solution with the $130 QuickCam Orbit, a webcam encased in a black sphere akin to the Star Wars interrogation droid. The positive DesignTechnica review gives plaudits to Logitech’s face-tracking technology and USB 2.0 connection. The only spot of grumbling concerns the bundled software, but that’s not enough to stave off a pretty enthusiastic thumbs-up.
