The PlayStation DualSense Edge Wireless Controller is Sony’s premium PS5 controller. The stick caps come in 3 styles. Standard caps are the same as on the regular DualSense. It has high dome caps add extra height for more precise aiming, and low dome caps sit flatter for faster thumb movement. You can swap out the caps by pulling them off and pressing the new ones on. Stick sensitivity and dead zones can also be tuned through the PS5 settings menu as well.
The Edge comes with 2 sets of back buttons that attach to the bottom of the controller so you can further customize it to your. liking. One set has half-dome buttons and the other has lever-style buttons, so you can pick the style you prefer or use one of each. You can map both sets to any button on the controller.
You can use the “Fn” button to switch between profiles, adjust volume and chat mix, or fine-tune button mappings during gameplay. The Edge also works on PC through a wired USB-C connection if you prefer to connect and change things out.
The Edge’s analog stick modules are replaceable. Stick drift on most controllers means buying a new controller or sending it in for repair. With the Edge, you can buy replacement stick modules from Sony and swap them out at home in a few minutes. The included carrying case holds the controller, USB cable, both back button sets, and all 3 stick cap styles. The case has a USB pass-through so the controller can charge while still inside it.
