It looks extremely hokey, but Matsushita Electric Works has announced a new camera with a motion-sensor that will take pictures of your pet, then email them to your mobile phone so you can keep an eye on them. Called the ‘Poppot Camera ATR0202W,’ it uses a DDI Pocket CF card for some reason (why couldn’t they just integrate the electronics?) And while that’s all well and good, I don’t know that a 0.1-megapixel camera and motion-sensor is worth $110 dollars, especially when a combination of a webcam and some software could probably do almost the same thing for about one-quarter the price.
