A UK company has set up ‘Portabible,’ a service which lets you pull down verses from the King James Bible via SMS. If you live in the UK, dialing ‘verse’ (or 83248) followed by a command (such as ‘judges 4:21’) will net you an SMS back within a few minutes with the specific verse, or you can perform searches or just request a random nugget of wisdom. Each message costs £1, but the profits are all going to a Christian charity throughout the beta test, which I am inferring will last until around Christmas.
Pretty handy if you forgot to bring a bible to thump, but why not text the big guy directly? ‘777 need to tlk abt hookr.’
