German manufacturer Praktica has announced the Luxmedia 4008, an appealingly chunky 4.2-megapixel digital camera with an 8x optical lens — the first in Praktica’s new line of Luxmedia cameras. Looks to use SD/MMC, as well as have a complimentary 16MB of RAM on-board, as well as all the usually MPEG4/JPEG/EXIF2.2/DPOF file format goodness (and the video is 30fps). PC connectivity is provided via USB 2.0, and they expect to ship around the beginning of July for about 400 euros.
