R/C Aerial Photography

By

Reading time 1 minute

Gary Dickerson pointed out these folks over at the RC Groups forums who have been rigging up small digital cameras to their R/C airplanes and getting some fantastic low-altitude aerial pictures. The trick is to find cameras that are light enough not to affect the handling of the planes too much, like the 2-megapixel Sony DSC-U40 that Gary rigged up with a custom mount and a hand-built trigger. The RC Groups forum is putting together a 2005 calendar now, too, collated from photos sent in by their users. Take a look at some of the great shots they’re getting—it looks like a lot of fun.
