The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K installs and works anywhere with its built-in rechargeable battery. Ring’s Retinal 2K video lets you clearly see everything that happens on your front porch, and the wide 140-by-140-degree lens provides a full view of anyone approaching your door. With up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, you can see the person’s face and read labels on deliveries, and Two-Way Talk lets you speak directly to anyone at your door via your phone.
A battery-powered video doorbell with 2K video and two-way talk
This doorbell has all the essential features of a front-door security system. You receive Retinal 2K video with high dynamic range, head-to-toe viewing, night vision, Live View, Two-Way Talk, and motion alerts, all using a rechargeable battery.
The Retinal 2K video has a 1920 by 1920 pixel resolution. HDR technology balances out very light areas, like a bright sky, and very dark areas, like the shaded part of a porch, within the same picture. Low-light tuning is built into the camera, and night vision is available so you can keep seeing who’s at your door at night.
The large 140-by-140-degree field of view lets you see an entire visitor, from the top of their head to their toes. Instead of only seeing the upper portion of a package left on your porch, you can see both the face of the person delivering your item and the box at their feet.
Enhanced Zoom allows you to digitally enlarge any part of your live or recorded video to better identify a particular object or person. With up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, you can get close enough to read a delivery label or get a better look at a car in your driveway.
With motion detection, you’re notified every time someone approaches your home. Customizable motion zones let you select only the areas where you want to detect movement, reducing alerts triggered by people walking down sidewalks or driving by on the street. Live View lets you check activity around your home whenever you want, and with Two-Way Talk, you can communicate directly with a guest or service provider without opening your front door.
Installation couldn’t be simpler. Simply attach the Ring doorbell to your home, and when the battery needs charging, unmount it with the included tool and plug it into any standard USB-C cable. Along with USB-C charging, you can also connect your existing doorbell wiring to trickle-charge the battery, or, if needed, purchase a solar charger for extended use.
Video history is one of many options provided through a Ring Protect subscription, sold separately, and it lets you replay previous activity around your home. The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K also works with Amazon Alexa-enabled devices, so if you have an Echo Show, you can visually identify who’s standing at your door. The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K is currently available in Speckled White and Speckled Grey.
