We’re trying summer this year in Brooklyn without an air conditioner, something that was impossible in the humid swamp lands of Kansas City, but seems possible this year due to our new space inside one of Brooklyn’s cool, stone buildings. Of course, we’re tactically placing fans about, too, so now added to the constant drone of our home built gaming PCs is the persistent whirr of spinning blades. So when black+blum says they have made a fan, called Propello, that removes the hum-inducing fan guards by making the blades out of relatively non-lethal rubber, and put it in a nice package, to boot, I have to think it looks a sight better than the cheap $10 box fans we have peppering the apartment. Unfortunately, for the price of one small Propello, I could buy 13 box fans and spend all day floating on a cushion of air.
