There’s so little information about this that it could almost just be some throwaway remnant of a industrial design student’s project, but it is rumored that Seiko is developing a Bluetooth-enabled hybrid watch/phone that would come in three pieces: the watch with built-in display, a Bluetooth headset, and a ‘pocket dialer’ that sounds an awful lot like the actual ‘phone’ part of the whole get up. Could be a fun idea, if they pull it off (besides having three things to charge each night), but they might want to work on making it something other than ass ugly. Why do so many electronics look like they were designed by the guy that made those Pizza Hut Back to the Future sunglasses? Oh, I almost forgot. They want to call it ‘The Phatch,’ a term than evokes a lot of different meanings to me, all of which are fairly prurient, so I’ll spare you the phatchy details.
