Samsung just announced a slew of new products across its Galaxy lineup during the Unpacked event this week. Among them is the eight-generation model in their family of flippable smart phones with the Galaxy Z Flip8. If you pre-order the new phone at Samsung, you’ll be entitled to a number of perks that help incentivize your purchase.
First up, any pre-orders taken now will receive an immediate $150 Samsung credit. This credit can be put toward a range of Samsung accessories that pair nicely with the new phone such as the new Galaxy Watch9 or the Galaxy Buds4. These accessories are also marked down by 15% when added to your cart with the new Galaxy Z Flip8, so you’ll be saving on top of your savings.

If you are comfortable parting ways with your old phone, you can actually take down the initial price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 pretty significantly. Samsung is accepting trade-in devices, offering as much as $600 toward your pre-order of the Galaxy Z Flip8. That means you can get the phone for as low as $600.
Amazon also has its own incentive for pre-ordering at its website. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is part of a deal in which you will receive a $200 Amazon gift card with your purchase that can be used on anything across the site, which for Amazon means pretty much any product you can imagine. It’s basically cash.
The confounding part is that Amazon also lists the Galaxy Z Flip8 for $225 higher than Samsung does on its site. At the time of writing, Samsung has the 256GB model starting at $1,200 while Amazon has it for $1,425. So really you are spending $225 to save $200. You’re losing $25 compared to shopping at Samsung. It’s a bit baffling. Plus, Amazon doesn’t have the phone in Mint, Samsung’s online exclusive colorway and clearly the best option of the bunch.
New to the Galaxy Z Flip8
Building on seven generations of flippable smartphones, the biggest thing Samsung is leading with for the Galaxy Z Flip8 is unsurprisingly its AI enhancements. And all new FlexWindow adds all new insights and actions to the cover screen with Gemini Intelligence.
Other improvements center around the camera. Recording videos on the move is now easier and can lead to better quality recordings with the inclusion of a camcorder grip with zoom rocker as well as a new horizontal lock that keeps footage smooth and consistently framed.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 officially releases on August 7.
