Winner: The Masking Policy
These are still worrisome times for traveling and gathering in huge groups, but SDCC’s organizers did as much as they could to keep everyone safe, and they did it really well: requiring vaccinations or covid negative tests (and making sure everyone had a wristband to prove they’d been checked), and ensuring all attendees were wearing masks when they weren’t eating or drinking. It felt like a thorough, organized effort across the board—unlike some recent major conventions—with con-goers also doing their part.
