We are under a week away from the big Fall savings event Amazon is cooking up. Prime Day has become almost as much of a colloquialism as Black Friday has. So much so that Amazon now puts together multiple of the savings events throughout the year. The one this season is called Prime Big Deal Days and it’s scheduled to last for two days, from Tuesday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 7. However, if you’re on the hunt for some deals right now, you don’t actually have to wait for next week’s sale to begin.
For instance, Amazon has this SanDisk High Endurance microSD card on sale at the moment. It’s available in a handful of different capacities ranging between 32GB and 512GB, but of those, two of them have been marked down. The 64GB model has a list price of $45, but the limited-time discount has taken in down by 40% to just $27—saving you $18. Likewise, the 128GB model has dropped from $61 to just $37—saving you $24.
This SanDisk microSD card is ideal for photographers and videographers. The High Endurance model is able to record for up to 5,000 hours on the 64GB microSD card, or up to 10,000 hours on the 128GB microSD card. Your actual amount of hours may vary, though. This is the spec for if you are recording solely in 1920 by 1080 Full HD. Your total will end up being less if you record at all in 3840 x 216 4K UHD, but it will still go the distance and record a ton of hours of content.
For Nintendo Switch Gamers
For the gamers out there: if you’re plan was to pick up this microSD so you could pop it into a Nintendo Switch 2, bad news. This is not compatible. You will not be able to download titles like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong: Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia onto it. It is, however, still compatible with the original Switch and all its various versions. This includes the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch OLED, and the Nintendo Switch Lite. So if you’re still rockin’ with Nintendo’s prior handheld hybrid console, that’s a-okay.
The reason is the new Nintendo Switch 2 requires much faster read and write speeds than what this one is capable of. For those shopping for microSD cards for their Nintendo Switch 2, you’re going to want to look for one labeled “Express”. These are the ones that have the spec requirements to work on the new console.
