Sanyo Creates Smallest FM Tuner Yet

Sanyo has developed a tiny FM tuner chip that is roughly half the size of current tuners on the market; they’re calling it the “Easy Radio IC.” It requires no other parts to operate and even has an upcoming version that can tune in AM as well (that’s coming in September). At just 5mm wide, there’s not any reason that any portable music player should be without FM radio, unless the manufacturer is just too stubborn to put it in.
